The Garmin zumo XT2 is the latest motorcycle sat nav from Garmin. It is the successor from a line of leading and ground breaking Garmin zumo motorcycle sat navs including the popular Garmin zumo 660 and Garmin zumo XT models. The Garmin zumo XT2 provides spoken turn-by-turn directions through your connected helmet or headset.
On-screen navigation is via the Garmin zumo XT2 impressive 6-inch crisp HD resolution display. The Garmin zumo XT2 display is 15% larger than previous models and features an even brighter HD resolution. When the zumo XT2 backlight is set at 100% brightness, the battery lasts up to 3.5 hours, but this can be extended up to 6 hours on regular settings. Alternatively the Garmin zumo XT2 can be hardwired to your motorbikes electrical supply for longer journeys.
As with previous Garmin zumo models the zumo XT2 touchscreen display is glove-friendly. Plus, just like the zumo XT2 predecessor, the Garmin zumo XT, the Garmin zumo XT2 6-inch display can be viewed in either landscape or portrait modes.
The Garmin zumo XT2 is preloaded with topograhpic maps with 3D terrain and street level maps for UK, Europe and the Middle East. Africa, including Tracks4Africa, North America (USA and Canada), South America, Australia and New Zealand maps are available as a free download via Garmin Express.
Birdseye Satellite Imagery - the Garmin zumo XT2 is supplied with access to global Birdseye Satellite Imagery with downloads via Wi-Fi and with no annual subscription to pay.
Within the Garmin zumo XT2s onscreen menu you can quickly and easily toggle between on-road maps (on-road), topographic (off-road) maps and BirdsEye Satellite Imagery, so you can always have the perfect map for your ride.
As you ride the Garmin zumo XT2 will provide rider alerts, these include warnings to hazards along your route, such as upcoming sharp bends, speed changes and more.
The Garmin zumo XT2 features built-in Bluetooth technology which enable you to make and receive hands-free calls. The Garmin zumo XT2 also includes a comprehensive POI (Point Of Interest) database. Databases you can access include Tripadvisor traveller ratings for hotels, restaurants and attractions along your route or near your destination. Plus iOverlander POIs and millions of popular places, thanks to Foursquare.
You can stream music via your compatible smartphone through the Garmin zumo XT2 navigator, or play MP3 files stored on the Garmin zumo XT2 internal 32GB storage. Audio files can then be played via your connected helmet or headset.
The Garmin zumo XT2 can be paired with a compatible Garmin inReach satellite communicator e.g. Garmin inReach Mini 2. Once paired this feature enables two-way messaging, location sharing and, in case of emergencies, SOS capabilities via the compatible Garmin inReach handheld device and the Garmin zumo XT2 motorcycle sat nav.
Built-in Wi-Fi connectivity makes it easy to keep the preloaded maps and software up to date without using a computer. Onscreen cues show when new updates are available.

This product is a sophisticated electronic device which requires that you read, understand, and act upon the information given in the instruction manual (usually available via the above 'manual' link). You will need internet access and, in accordance with the manufacturers’ recommendations, regularly seek out and accept all firmware or software updates offered by the manufacturer. All GPS devices need to ‘see’ the satellites in the sky. Therefore you will need to know that your vehicle does not have glass that will block or impede the GPS signal.
Updates to this product are via the internet. At this product page we state compatibility with specific versions of current internet connection devices, for example: PC, laptop, MAC, smartphone etc. The Consumer Contract Regulations allow you 14 days, from receipt of purchase, to check compatibility with your internet connection device/s. If you choose to replace or update your PC, MAC etc. neither we nor the manufacturer will be responsible if the new/replacement Operating System (OS) is not compatible with the purchased product.
Question: I'm interested in the garmin zumo XT2, however I am spending a lot of time in Japan and I note from your product links etc that a map for Japan is not available, is that correct? I can also buy the product here in Japan (with Japan maps) albeit I don't know yet if I can then download UK/Europe maps onto it when I am home. Can you advise please?
Answer: That is correct, to our knowledge Garmin do not produce a Garmin City Navigator map for Japan. I would therefore recommend that you purchase the Garmin zumo XT2 from Japan, with preloaded Japanese mapping. For use in Europe I would recommend that you purchase Garmin City Navigator NTU 2024 Maps of Europe microSD/SD card:

Follow up Question: Many thanks for your prompt reply. I'm in Japan now so will give Garmin Japan a call and see if they can confirm that I will be able to install the UK/Europe maps onto a XT2 bought in Japan – hopefully the answer is yes but I was told late yesterday that previous Zumo versions couldnt have Japan/non-Japan on same device due to an incompatibility of the software... crazy so hopefully that will be sorted now.
Follow up Answer: If Garmin Japan are able to sell you the maps for Japan and you will predominately use the Garmin zumo XT2 in Europe you could buy the sat nav from ourselves and add the Japanese maps. That is another way you could purchase the Garmin zumo XT2 and the maps you require? Buying the Garmin City Navigator NTU 2024 Maps of Europe microSD/SD card from ourselves will NOT provide you with topographic maps of UK and Europe. As we understand it those maps are only available preloaded to the sat nav?
