Following on from the popular Garmin Montana 680t model the new Garmin Montana 760i hosts additional features not before seen in the Garmin Montana series. These new features include:

‣Global connectivity - Instead of relying on cellphone coverage, now your messages, SOS and tracking are transferred via the 100% global Iridium satellite network (subscription required).
‣InReach Weather - Available inReach weather forecast service provides detailed updates directly to your Montana handheld or paired devices, so you'll know what to expect en route.

The Garmin Montana 760i features a built-in barometric altimeter to track changes in pressure to calculate altitude. In addition a 3-axis compass allows you to find or check which direction you are heading and you do not need to be holding the GPS device level to do so.

The Garmin Montana 760i 8 megapixel camera not only takes landscape and portrait photos but it also records a geotag providing you with GPS coordinates as to the exact location of the photos taken so you can navigate back to the exact location.

Garmin BaseCamp software enables to view and organise maps, waypoints, routes and tracks. With trip-planning software you can wirelessly share your routes and waypoints with friends, family and fellow explorers. When viewing Topographic maps on your computer you can view contour lines and elevations. Furthermore, you can transfer satellite images to your device using the subscription free BirdsEye Satellite Imagery on an annual basis.

Additional walking/road maps and marine charts are also available for the Montana 760i and come supplied on microSD card. Mapping options include: City Navigator street-level road maps, BlueChart g3 marine charts, TOPO map series Ordnance Survey LandRanger maps at 1:25k or 1:50k scale.

The Garmin Montana 760i comes supplied (when purchased from ActiveGPS) a high-speed rechargeable lithium-ion battery. The battery life varies depending how you are using the Garmin Montana 760i - up to 24 hours (GPS Mode, including when a text message or location is sent every 10 minutes); up to 440 hours (Expedition Mode) or up to 300 hours (when a text message or location is sent every 30 minutes). Please note: Battery life estimates are with full sky view and can be significantly impacted by obstructions or tree cover.

Map Coverage

The Garmin Montana 760i is preloaded with TopoActive Europe maps. TopoActive Europe maps enables you to view elevations, coastlines, rivers, landmarks and more. Additional pre-programmed Garmin maps on SD/microSD card (sold separately) can also be added including Garmin TOPO maps of 1:50K Great Britain, 1:25K Great Britain, France, Italy, Spain, etc.
