Add a Garmin Transducer

When connected to a compatible transducer, the Garmin ECHOMAP UHD2 55cv chartplotter can be used as a fishfinder. The Garmin ECHOMAP UHD2 55cv features built-in support for two types of sonar: Garmin traditional and ClearVu scanning sonars.

Different sonar views can help you view the fish in the area. The sonar views available vary depending on the type of transducer and sounder module connected to the Garmin ECHOMAP UHD2 55cv chartplotter.

There are four basic styles of sonar views available: a full-screen view, a split-screen view that combines two or more views, a split-zoom view, and a split-frequency view that displays two different frequencies. You can customise the settings for each view in the screen. For example, if you are viewing the split-frequency view, you can separately adjust the gain for each frequency.

Installation

The Garmin ECHOMAP UHD2 55cv comes supplied with Garmin tilt/swivel mount with quick release cable. The tilt/swivel mount surface mounts against most flat surfaces on your boat. In addition and as an alternative flush mounting option, a flush mount kit is also included. Powering the Garmin ECHOMAP UHD2 55cv comes from the supplied Power/data cable.

Chart Coverage

The Garmin ECHOMAP UHD2 55cv marine fishfinder/chartplotter combo is preloaded with Garmin Navionics+ marine charts with coverage for the United Kingdom, Ireland and Northwest mainland Europe coast (see chart coverage below). The preloaded Garmin Navionics+ marine chart includes 1 year subscription for daily updates, raster cartography and more.

Please note: The Garmin ECHOMAP UHD2 55cv is preloaded with Navionics marine charts. If you already own or add Garmin BlueCharts while these are compatible the Navionics charts will automatically be displayed for the included coverage (see chart coverage below). Therefore, the default will be always for the Garmin ECHOMAP UHD2 55cv to display the Navionics charts in these waters, even if you purchase the latest or later version of Garmin BlueCharts marine charts. If you own or use for example a different region e.g. Garmin BlueChart g3 Vision Alicante-Cabo de Sao Vicente (Southern Spain), you will have no issue seeing and using the added Garmin BlueChart.
