Garmin Airmar DST820 Smart Thru-Hull Transducer

Product Code: GARDST820

Garmin logo
Garmin Airmar DST820 Smart Thru-Hull Transducer

The plastic Garmin Airmar DST820 smart thru-hull transducer provides depth, speed, water temperature, heel, pitch and roll data via a NMEA 2000 network to your compatible Garmin chartplotter.

The DST820 replaces the DST810. It adds a secure QR-code setup for improved onboard network security and fits the same 2-inch thru-hull fitting, so an existing DST810 can be swapped out without new hull work.

The Garmin DST820 thru-hull transducer reads depths to 330 feet (100 metres), operates at 235 kHz and has a wide 10 x 44 degree beam.

Garmin part number: 010-11051-30

Compatibility: Compatible with selected Garmin chartplotter/fishfinder models, please complete our online form on the Garmin Transducers Buyer's Guide page.

Garmin Airmar DST820 Thru-Hull

The plastic Garmin Airmar DST820 thru-hull transducer combines depth, speed and water temperature with attitude sensing for heel/trim and pitch/roll data, delivered via a NMEA 2000 network to your compatible Garmin chartplotter.

The Garmin Airmar DST820 is a smart sensor with embedded micro electronics - the transducer element and signal processor are only millimetres apart, so the signal is processed right inside the sensor itself. All that is needed to receive depth, speed and temperature data is a single cable into a compatible NMEA 2000 network or display.

Wireless Bluetooth connectivity lets you manage sensor calibration through the free AIRMAR CAST app on your phone or tablet. The DST820 introduces a secure setup: scan the QR code and enter a one-time password on your mobile device to protect the sensor on your onboard network.

The water speed output updates 5 times per second for smoother speed readings on compatible displays. The wide port-starboard, fan shaped beam is able to find bottom even when installed on steep deadrise hulls or on sailboats when heeled.

Upgrading from a DST810? The DST820 fits the same 2-inch thru-hull fitting as the DST810, so no new hull work is needed. It also draws less power from the NMEA 2000 backbone (a Load Equivalency Number of 2, down from 3).

The Garmin Airmar DST820 thru-hull transducer comes with installation instructions. Follow the instructions carefully to avoid damaging your boat.

What is the Garmin Airmar DST820 compatible with?

Thru-hull transducer mountingThe genuine Garmin Airmar DST820 is a thru-hull transducer and is compatible with selected Garmin chartplotter/fishfinder models and requires connection to a NMEA 2000 network. It does not plug directly into the sonar port on a Garmin chartplotter or fishfinder. Unless you are sure it is compatible with your Garmin marine GPS device please complete our online form on the Garmin Transducers Buyer's Guide page.

Once you have completed the online form with details of the Garmin marine device you own or intend to use your Garmin transducer with, we will then be able to confirm the exact transducer best suited to your needs.

The Garmin Transducer online form also asks: What material is your boat's hull made from? How is your motor mounted? Which transducer mounting style would you like to use? What is the deadrise angle of the boat's hull where the transducer will be mounted? What sonar view(s) do you require?
