Avtex Tourer Two Questions and Answers

Question: I have changed my vehicle and need to route the power cable for my Avtex Tourer Two. With my old vehicle, I simply plugged the power lead into the cigarette lighter as it has one of those type plugs on the power lead!  However, my new vehicle is a Mercedes Sprinter WAV. There is a USB socket, right next to where I want to install the unit, but is there such a thing as a USB power lead that also incorporates the power to the camera antennae. I have seen a cheap alternative - a USB 5V to 12V Converter. Is this safe? I would rather buy the recommended power lead, but a USB version instead of cigarette type. 

Answer: We would personally only recommend that you use a genuine Avtex Tourer accessories (as shown above) with your Avtex Tourer Two sat nav.

The issue with using a third-party cables is that the amps and volts provided might not be sufficient or too powerful for your Avtex Tourer Two? The outcome of which could be a catastrophic failure of your Avtex Tourer Two sat nav?
