The Garmin flotation lanyard is designed for use with a number of different Garmin handhelds including the popular Garmin eTrex series, Garmin Dakota series, Garmin GPSMAP series and the Garmin Montana series (excluding Montana 700 series) handheld models.

An alternative to buying the flotation lanyard is the Garmin swivel belt clip (pictured left). The swivel belt clip works with the same Garmin models as the flotation lanyard, but rather then featuring a flotation lanyard, the alternative version features a belt clip instead. The belt clip version is better suited for attaching your device directly to your belt or the top of a pocket.
