Garmin nuvi 3490 Vehicle Mount

The Garmin nuvi 3490 powered suction cup mount also includes a built-in speaker in the back of powered mount (pictured below). This built-in speaker enables you to hear spoken voice instructions, as your Garmin nuvi 3490LT/LMT navigates you on-screen to your destination.

Mounting options

The Garmin nuvi 3490 suction cup mount comes with two different ways to mount your nuvi sat nav.

Windscreen mounting

Using the supplied cradle and windscreen suction cup mount, simply affix directly and firmly to your vehicles windscreen, thanks to the snap close design.

Dashboard mounting

In addition an adhesive round dash mount pad is also included when you buy from ActiveGPS. Simply pick a flat area on your vehicles dashboard and attach the mount disc directly onto your vehicles dash top ready for the suction cup mount.

Powering your Garmin nuvi 3490

To power and charge your Garmin nuvi 3490 in your car, van, etc you will also need to buy (or already have) the Garmin nuvi 3490LT vehicle power cable. The vehicle power cable plugs directly into the Garmin nuvi 3490 powered mount cradle, which is supplied with the purchase of the Garmin nuvi 3490 suction cup mount on this page.

Alternatively, and if you'd like to continue to receive traffic alerts, then you will need to the buy the Garmin GTM 36 FM Traffic Receiver. The GTM 36 includes a vehicle power cable for charging and powering the Garmin nuvi 3490LT and a built-in traffic receiver with lifetime subscription. The GTM 36 connects in the same way as the aforementioned vehicle power cable.

The Garmin nuvi 3490 windscreen mount is compatible with the following 4.3-inch screen Garmin nuvi models:

Garmin nuvi 3450, 3450LM, 3490LT, 3490LMT, 3710, 3750, 3760T, 3760LMT, 3790T, 3790LMT.

Please note: Whilst this powered suction cup mount is compatible with the nuvi 3400 series (which has a 4.3-inch touchscreen) it is not compatible with the nuvi 3500 series (which has a 5-inch touchscreen). Find your Garmin nuvi 3500 series sat nav model.

Alternative mounting option

By using the unit mount/cradle supplied with the Garmin nuvi 3490 suction cup mount you can also use it with either of the following two mounting options. Neither of the mounting options below include the Garmin nuvi 3490 cradle.

Portable friction mount

Enables you to mount your Garmin nuvi 3490 directly on top of your vehicles dashboard. The portable friction mount doesn't require suction or adhesive, and therefore doesn't leave any trace when it's not in use.
