Garmin Edge 820 is a Cycling GPS navigation and advance performance monitoring system. The Edge 820 features 2.3-inch high-resolution touchscreen.

Smart notifications are available when paired with a mobile phone. LiveTrack allows friends and family to track your GPS location. Furthermore, GroupTrack enables you to track other people cycling with you in your group.

The battery life is 15 hours in GPS training mode and is extended to 24 hours in UltraTrac mode.

The Garmin Edge 820 is a compact Cycling sat nav device for both on road and off road. There is a 2.3-inch high resolution touch screen on the Garmin Edge 820 and it is both waterproof (IPX 7 waterproof) and can be operated in wet conditions. The Edge 820 is also possible to operate with gloves on. With various sensors and accessories available to add the Garmin Edge 820 cycling computer is an excellent riding companion and it provides post-ride analysis too.

Smart notifications are available when paired with a compatible smartphone. Social media sharing is also possible as well as automatic uploads to Garmin Connect where you can share and download routes and more.

LiveTrack allows family and friends to follow your location as you are cycling. Furthermore, GroupTrack allows you to pair with a mobile phone and with other compatible GPS devices so you can keep track of other cyclists in your group (track up to 50 riders). Auto-start feature automatically tracks location of you and the location of your fellow riders when you begin to cycle.

Bike-specific navigation is made possible with the preloaded with Garmin Cycle Map. This will provide turn-by-turn navigation to addresses. Routable roads and bike paths can be chosen for your preferred journey. Points of interest and address search is also included. Elevation data will also be displayed along your ride. For your round-trip, routing with the Edge 820 is cycling friendly (for example enter how far you want to ride, beginning to end and it will calculate potential routes to cycle)

GPS and GLONASS satellite connectivity is possible whereby the Edge 820 will locate your position quickly and precisely. These satellites provide excellent coverage for cycling deep in the woods or in cities near tall buildings.

Advanced performance monitoring is included with VO2 max, recovery advisor, Strava live segments, FTP, performace condition, advanced cycling dynamics (requires heart rate and power).

The Garmin Edge 820 features built-in incident detection and is compatible with cycling awareness accessories such as Varia Vision, Varia smart bike lights and rearview radar.

200 waypoints/locations can be stored, as well as 100 routes (as courses).

Time-Distance alerts are also provided so you know the vital statistics. Interval training is therefore possible with the Garmin Edge 820. You can also view on the display calories burned.

Ambient light sensor automatically adjusts the screen's brightness to make it easy to glance at in many weather conditions. The touchscreen will also work in the wet weather and when wearing gloves.

The Edge 820 is compatible with ANT+ sensors to measure speed, cadence and heart rate. ANT+ power meters, including Vector allow you to use unique pedal-based power meter to measure total power, left/right balance and cadence.

Record cycling dynamics such as where power is being applied on the pedal and throughout pedal stroke.

A heart rate strap is also available as an optional extra. Furthermore cycling specific VO2 max along with recovery advisor analyses data and tells you how long you should wait before attempting another hard ride.
