Coronavirus disease - COVID-19

Via this page we will be adding the latest information relating to stock availability and deliveries from ActiveGPS as a result of the Coronavirus disease - COVID-19 outbreak in the United Kingdom.

ActiveGPS orders

The vast majority of orders are being processed as normal, with orders being dispatched sameday (Monday to Friday) or within 24 hours of the order being placed (excluding weekends). There is however one current exception to this, Garmin handheld/outdoor devices are currently only being dispatched on either a Wednesday or Thursday each week. For all other orders we continue to guarantee next working day and Saturday guaranteed on orders where customers have selected one of our premium delivery services. If a customer has chosen a next working day delivery on a handheld GPS device this will be dispatched via a next working day service the following Wednesday/Thursday.

Stock availability

We have currently (20th July 2020) have good stock availability on the vast majority of lines on the ActiveGPS website. However, some products are out of stock owing to factory closures in China. If you have a forthcoming trip and require products, accessories, mapping, etc, we would urge you to buy ahead of time.

Once the destination country is reached, an overseas postal service will make the delivery. We do not have adefinitive list of overseas delivery/courier companies that Royal Mail use overseas. However, in the vast majority of cases Royal Mail will use a national provider. Royal Mail Frequently Asked Questions:

1. Can customers catch coronavirus from the mail?

Public Health England has advised that there is no perceived increase in risk of contracting the new coronavirus for handling post or freight from specified areas. From experience with other coronaviruses, we know these types of viruses don’t survive long on objects, such as letters or parcels.

2. What actions will Royal Mail take in the event of a suspected or confirmed case of coronavirus with one of our employees?

Should we have a confirmed employee case, we will work with Public Health England who sets out the required actions for the relevant Royal Mail office (if the employee has been in work) and any wider actions relating to people the employee has been in contact with. We have all the systems and processes in place to carry out cleaning of our property, if required.
